3 July 1993 – Rembrandt Hotel was designed by renowned architects and interior designers from Hong Kong. When it first opened, the hotel offered 407 luxurious rooms and suites, and one of the most modern banqueting facilities in Bangkok.
October 1993 – Rembrandt Hotel launches Senor Pico, now renamed to Mexicano since December 2015. It was the first Mexican restaurant in Bangkok with a live band from Cuba. Today, with talented and passionate Mexican chef, Carlos Bravo at the helm, Mexicano is renowned as one of the best Mexican restaurants in Bangkok.
October 1993 – Rembrandt Hotel launches Rang Mahal, the first rooftop and fine dining Indian restaurant. With more than 50 awards, Rang Mahal has welcomed prominent guests from around the world, including royalty, and is known as one of the best Indian restaurants in Bangkok.
October 1993 – Rembrandt Hotel is the first hotel to use a tuk-tuk for transporting guests. The original tuk-tuk is on show in the hotel lobby.
March 1999 – Rembrandt Hotel launches Red Pepper, a contemporary Thai cuisine restaurant. At the time it was one of the first Thai fine dining restaurants.
March 2002 – Rembrandt Hotel opens da Vinci, an Italian restaurant which was later renovated in 2017. It is considered by many as having the best pizza in town.
2009 – Rembrandt Hotel completes renovations of all the hotel rooms, suites and common areas, and including the addition of a well-equipped gym. Renovations also included refurbishment and reinstallation of environmental friendly equipment focusing on energy savings, with a forecast to reduce total energy costs including water, lighting systems, air conditioners and heating by 60 percent.
2011 – Rembrandt Hotel opens the Sanctuary Spa which today has been rebranded as Kairali. It is one of the first Ayurveda spas offering hotel guests and Bangkok residents a complete package of healing and relaxation treatments.
2018 – Today, Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok stands as one of the finest, most established hotels on Sukhumvit Road, priding itself on high levels of service and providing guests with a home away from home.
